The FOFA Gallery's 2021 exhibition focused on the theme of Imagined Topographies, showcasing the artistic and research practices of Concordia’s Faculty of Fine Arts. The objective was to design an exhibition catalogue that would celebrate the participating artists despite the absence of a physical show. This meant transforming the catalogue into an engaging object that captured the energy and essence of a physical exhibition.

To address this challenge, our team created an immersive reading experience that went beyond a traditional catalogue. The design, material choices and dynamic layouts ensured a sense of discovery and engagement for the reader. The catalogue became a portal into the artists' world, celebrating their works and capturing the abstract and concrete relationships within them.

The result was a successful transformation of the catalogue into an object of artistic expression. It effectively showcased the diverse practices under the theme of Imagined Topographies and provided an immersive reading experience comparable to attending a physical exhibition. The catalogue served as a tangible representation of the liminal spaces explored by the artists, celebrating their creativity and enhancing the visibility of the FOFA Gallery's 2021 exhibition.
